Introduction

At MODA (getmoda.app), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have when you use the MODA mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create a MODA account we collect:

• Email address
• Name (optional; if you sign in with Apple or Google we receive the name provided by that service)
• Password (stored only as a salted hash on our servers)
• Authentication identifier from Apple or Google if you use social sign-in

Content You Create

MODA is a personal wardrobe and styling tool. The App stores and syncs the content you add, including:

• Photos of your clothing items ("garments")
• Wardrobe metadata you provide (category, color, material, notes)
• Outfits you generate or assemble
• Onboarding preferences (style goals, typical occasions, fit preferences)
• Profile photo (optional)
• Feature requests you choose to submit

Subscription Information

When you purchase a MODA subscription we receive:

• An Apple-provided transaction identifier
• Subscription status and expiration date
• An anonymous appAccountToken that links your purchase to your MODA account

Payment is processed entirely by Apple. We never receive your card details.

Device and Usage Information

The App automatically collects non-sensitive technical information to help us operate and improve MODA:

• Device model, operating system version, language, and timezone
• App version and build number
• Crash reports, performance metrics, and diagnostic logs
• Product interaction events (screens viewed, features used)
• Approximate IP-based location derived from server logs
• Access times and dates

Optional Permissions

The App only accesses the following when you grant permission:

• Camera — to photograph clothing items or take a profile picture
• Photo Library — to pick existing photos of clothing items
• Location (When In Use) — to fetch local weather and generate weather-appropriate outfit recommendations. We use Apple WeatherKit and never transmit precise location to our servers
• Calendar (Full Access) — to read upcoming events on your device and tailor outfit suggestions to them. Event data is read on-device and is not uploaded to our servers
• Notifications — to deliver daily outfit reminders and missing-garment alerts you have opted into
• App Tracking Transparency — to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. See the "App Tracking Transparency" section below

You may revoke any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Generate and sync your wardrobe, outfits, and preferences across your devices
• Process and manage your subscription
• Provide AI-generated outfit recommendations tailored to your wardrobe, weather, and calendar
• Send transactional emails (email verification, account changes)
• Send optional push notifications you have enabled
• Diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and fix bugs
• Measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers necessary to run MODA:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case you will be notified).

App Tracking Transparency

If you are on iOS 14.5 or later, MODA asks you on first launch whether we may track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes. If you decline:

• The App works exactly the same
• We do not access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA)
• Meta and TikTok SDKs operate in a limited, non-tracking mode

You can change this choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account directly inside the App at any time:

Profile tab → Delete Account

Deleting your account removes your personal data, garment images, and outfits from our servers and logs you out on all devices. Some information may be retained in backups for a limited period, and we may retain anonymized or aggregated data that no longer identifies you.

Your App Store subscription is managed by Apple and is not cancelled automatically when you delete your account. To cancel a subscription, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that grants similar rights, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request data portability
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

You can exercise most of these rights directly in the App. For anything else, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including TLS in transit, encrypted storage for authentication tokens (Keychain), and access controls on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data.

Children's Privacy

MODA is not intended for children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you via the App or by email and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
